Abstract
Nepal's transitional justice process is frustrated owing to a lack of political will and entrenched impunity. Despite the formation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) in 2015, there has been little progress in resolving war crimes. This article critically explores Nepal's efforts to address impunity through the TRC, focusing on the role of political players, international pressures, and comparative lessons from other post-conflict nations. The research contends that the future of Nepal's TRC depends on genuine political commitment, independent judicial systems, and victim-centred justice. The recommendations include legal reforms, increased international participation, and the incorporation of restorative justice approaches. Key words: Transitional justice, Nepal, Truth and Reconciliation Commission, impunity, restorative justice.
